Description

With the light beginning to appear at the end of the tunnel of this very challenging past year, nonprofit fundraisers are now faced with a new question - 'what's next?' How can you make your nonprofit organization more sustainable and able to weather the unexpected while still growing your fundraising results? In this informative and interactive session, we will explore how a development audit can help fundraisers identify organizational weaknesses, build on strengths and reach goals. Perhaps most importantly, the audit process puts everyone involved in an organization's fundraising on the same page and creates a sense of ownership that is so critical to success. Creating a fundraising plan based on the information gained through an audit will bring needed focus and prioritization to fundraising and prevent the potential derailment of efforts.

Key takeaways include:

  1. An understanding of what a development audit is and when and how it can be helpful in improving your organization's fundraising efforts.
  2. Identification of key areas of a fundraising program and how they can be evaluated through the audit process.
  3. An understanding of why having a documented plan is critical to fundraising success.
  4. How to use your fundraising plan to build a culture of fundraising within your organization.
  5. Knowledge of the basic elements of an effective fundraising plan.

This session is appropriate for entry level nonprofit professionals that work for organizations of all sizes. Track: Fundraising
