More about this session:
Creating the next generation of major gift donors is one of the most significant things that senior management can do to enhance the future of the organization / institution. Mid-level donors, those giving $1,000 to $10,000 annually, are truly the major gift donors of tomorrow. Increasing the number of loyal supporters at this level is a way to leave an outstanding legacy. Within the realm of philanthropy, gifts from individuals should be based on relationships with the organization rather than individuals from local chapters; “people give to people, however, people support missions.”
Key takeaways include:
- Data – Identify the most likely mid-level and major gift prospects based on proprietary knowledge and analysis. Collect the best possible contact information to ensure that we can reach these likely prospects.
- Message – Regularly communicate the brand and case to our targeted prospects in ways that will educate our mid-level and major donors that’ll encourage them to join in Kesem’s continual success. Revitalize the case statement, case for support and brand to maximize the effectiveness of the overall program.
- Strategy – Mid-level giving can be combined with the unique attributes of Kesem to produce a comprehensive strategy that addresses all aspects of a successful philanthropic program which will grow into a robust and authentic major giving program.
- Guidance – Managing gift officers to their individual success is the core component of this program. My background and experience will provide the correct amount of knowledge and discipline to get the job done right.
- Stewardship – Reinforcing donor decisions in a way that leads to even larger gifts is possible with a delivered clear message to our donors after the gift that illustrates impact and results.
